Toni & Guy opened the South Bank Academy in London. Sacha Mascolo-Tarbuck and Alex De Pomme projected and created a state-of-the-art, intriguing environment that takes training to a higher level. It took more than a year to complete the work. A two-storey glass extension was built on the flat roof and a gas-powered generator was installed to supply the required energy. Each of the floors has its own identity: the entrance is green, the first floor is red, the second is blue, while academy one, two and three on the third floor are orange. The 10 metre curved wall of the reception has 100 recessed product niches with fibre optic lighting which changes colour. The main Academy is open-plan, bur can be divided into three separate rooms using folding partitions. There is also a hidden stage which hides underneath a preparation area and pulls out when needed. There are 45 styling stations, each housing 2 positions and featuring floor-to-ceiling mirrors. It is a very modern environment; it really is the next generation of Toni & Guy
